Are we in flux yet again?

Now this is not another Google Wave lovefest entry. I am still waiting on my invite into the world of wave. Also I’m not looking promote Google Wave as some kind of panacea. Nonetheless,Google wave is upon us. It is touted as an e-mail killer of sorts. When we combine this technology with the pervasiveness of Facebook and Twitter the landscape of the way in which we, the connected, chose to communicate has changed dramatically. While we are still regaining balance to finally see the outstretched tapestry of modern communication (email, web meetings, forums, bulletin boards, etc.), are we yet again about to undergo a massive change?

In a recent TECHCRUNCH article MG Siegler argues the point of the new dawn of “Passive Aggressive” communication (http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/10/12/google-wave-and-the-dawn-of-passive-aggressive-communication/). The gist of the article is to suggest that email is now a old and dated mode of communication. It was designed for a log on / log off culture – Passive. But we live in a world on constant connectivity with short burst of thoughts (non-lengthy communication) and you chose what and when you want to respond or involve yourself – Aggressive. Now this is a really big swag at this article but the point is and interesting one. In addition the Wall Street Journal published an article the argues the relevance of email (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203803904574431151489408372.html). Now these are just two examples of a much larger response to this issue. So how has these communicative changes affected you?
