An "argument outfit" -- that is classic. Doesn't sound like it took too much coercion to get you into a pair of KSO Treks. So how do you like them so far? What will you be primarily using them for? Good post.

To me, a magical Negro must be an actual Negro with some kind of supernatural talent. Let’s remember, Spike Lee coined this term to refer to Duncan’s and Smith’s roles in films that were popular that year.

Freeman and Fisburne’s work more aptly fit the “Old Black Joe” stereotype. An wizened, asexual black man whose helps white people on their journey. Freeman has made a career out of these types of roles, driving white folk to the Piggly Wiggly or helping them discover themselves and delivering them from melancholy.
